How to play a dart game of 501.

A step-by-step photo guide.
So you want to learn how to play the dart game called 501. All of those numbers and different colored areas of the dart board might seem a bit confusing, but this photo gallery makes it easy to understand. Just follow the photos and you’ll be throwing like an champion in no time.

The objective of the game. Go from 501 points to zero points faster than your opponent. The winner must hit a double to win the game. For example, if you have 40 points left you need a double twenty to win the game. If you throw the exact number of points in your score without a double last you start over from that score. You also bust if you shoot a number larger than your current score. 

Where to throw your darts. There are three main things to know about the dart board – the single area, the double area and the triple area. Throw a dart in the single area and you get that exact number of points. Throw a double and you subtract two times that number from your total. Hit the triple ring and you subtract three times that number.

Who shoots first? In order to start a game of 501 you need to know who throws first. Flip a coin and the winner chooses who throws first at the bulls-eye. Closest to the bulls-eye goes first in the game. If you both throw the same distance you have to throw again, however the last person to throw at the bulls-eye goes first. It’s also considered a tie if you both throw into the single area of the bulls-eye, even if one dart is closer to the double bull area. Keep throwing until one dart is the clear winner and that person goes first.

 Big scores help. You want to hit the largest total per turn. This means concentrating on the triple line and aiming for 20s and/or 19s. Your biggest competitor is yourself. Be calm and shoot the game you know you can shoot. If you are missing on the 20s then try to shoot for the 19s. You can get hot by switching back and forth. You can start shooting for an out at 170 points, (triple 20, triple 20, double bull's eye).

15 Laluan Paling Bahaya Di Dunia...


Mesti kebanyakan daripada kita semua bencikan kesesakkan jalanraya bukan? Sudah pasti ramai diantara anda semua akan menggunakan jalan alternatif untuk cepat mengelakkan perkara ini. Paku, angin lintang, runtuhan tanah, tertimbus dibawah ribut pasir, mungkin ini semua tidak terlintas difikiran anda bukan?

Sebenarnya di dunia, banyak jalan yang sangat sukar dan sangat BERBAHAYA telah dibina oleh manusia. Kerana apa? Why did the chicken cross the road… to get to the other side la..hehe

Entri kali ini membawa anda jauh meneroka jalan paling berbahaya di dunia. Hold on to your seats, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!

1. Stelvio Pass Road, Italy

Kawasan timur pergunungan Alps, Italy sungguh mengujakan. Jalan yang berliku zig-zag sepanjang 1.7 batu diatas paras laut ni mempunyai 48 selekoh yang amat sempit dan tajam. Ia kelihatan cantik dari jauh, tetapi bukannya senang merentasi pergunungan Alps dengan keadaan sebegini bukan?

2. Trollstigen, Norway

Trollstigen bermaksud “Tangga Troll” (sejenis makhluk mitos yang terkenal di barat). Dengan selekoh yang amat sempit, hampir mustahil untuk melepasi kereta lain apabila bertembung dan bahaya terlangar dinding batu yang hanya beberapa inci dari jalan apabila anda mengalami vertigo. Mengapa memandu disini? Pelancong tertarik ke sini untuk meliha air terjun 1000 kaki disisi pergunungannya.

3. State road 319, China

Lebuh raya yang panjang dan selalu dilanda badai angin ini sepanjang 1900 batu. Apabila anda menggunakan lebuhraya ini, tiada apa yang perlu anda risaukan kecuali tanah runuh dan selekoh tajam yang boleh mencampakkan anda ke jurang sedalam beribu-ribu kaki dibawah. Selain itu, jalan ini selamat dilalui kerana selalu disinari cahaya lampu dan kelihatan seperti nyalaan api.

4. Col de Turini, France

Terletak di selatan Perancis, laluan sepanjang 20km adalah sebahagian daripada laluan Monte Carlo Rally dengan 34 selekoh maut dan jalan curam yang panjang dimana kereta selalunya memecut pada kelajuan 100 batu sejam. Ia diisytiharkan sebagai ‘one of the greatest driving roads of the world’, tetapi tidak bagi mereka yang mengutamakan keselamatan

5. North Yungas Road, Bolivia

Laluan  ini dikenali sebagai the “Road of Death.” Jalan ini merupakan jalan sehala yang sempit, jadi kenapa lori-lori tersebut masih melepasi satu sama lain? adakah pemandu mereka gila? Mungkin ini merupakan satu-satunya jalan yang ada di kawasan tersebut. Kawasan ini selalunya berkabus tebal dan hujan yang menyebabkan tanah runtuh..                 ( dasyatnya tempat ni..fuh!)

6. Taroko Gorge Road, Taiwan (Chungheng)

Terowong tanpa sistem pencahayaan ini bakal mengundang bencana bila-bila masa sahaja. Pelancong menyukai tempat ini kerana ia merentasi taman negara. Sekurang-kurangnya terowong ini dipagari dengan konkrit disisinya.

7. Los Caracoles Pass, Andes

Laluan yang sangat terkenal merentasi pergunungan Andreas yang menghubungkan Chile dan Argentina. Jalan yang licin dan selekoh tajam tanpa penghadang menambahkan lagi gerun pemandu yang melewati jalan ini. Jalan ini diselaputi salji hampir kebanyakkan masanya. Ramai yang lebih rela mengambil tiket penerbangan dari menempuhi jalan ini.

8. Lena Highway, Russia

Juga dikenali sebagai “Highway from Hell”. Jalan ini terhampar selari dengan sungai Lena. Pada musim dingin, jalan ini adalah sangat licin untuk dilalui, manakala apabila musim panas tiba, ia akan dibanjiri dengan banjir lumpur.

9. Guoliang Tunnel Road, China

Ya, laluan ini terletak didalam gunung sepanjang 200 meter, 5 meter tinggi dan 4 meter lebar. Pemandangan yang cantik memang tidak diragukan tetapi jalan ini tidak akan bertolak ansur terhadap sebarang kecuaian pemandu!

10. Cotopaxi Volcan Road. Ecuador

Jalan ini bukan dibina dengan Tar hitam, tetapi batuan volcanic. Dibina di Cotopaxi, antara tempat gunung berapi paling aktif di dunia. Lebih 50 letusan telah dicatatkan dan ianya masih berterusan.

11. Atlas Mountains Road, Morocco

Dades Gorge di Morocco (Maghribi) mempunyai pemandangan yang mempersona, tetapi jalan disini sememangnya berbelit-belit seperti ular kena palu!

12. The Way to Fairy Meadows, Pakistan

Anda akan faham apabila jurupandu mengarahkan anda supaya jangan memandang ke bawah apabila mengetahui kamu seorang yang gayat. Tiada bantuan, tiada pagar penghadang dan tiada harapan!

13. Grimsel Pass, Switzerland

Dengan ketinggian sebatu diatas aras laut, jalan yang curam ini membawa anda merentasi pergunungan swiss diantara lembah Sungai Rhone dan Lembah Haslital. Jalan ini dilengkapi pagar penghadang dan lampu jalan, tetapi ingat, anda diatas jalan yang sangat curam, jangan fikir anda sudah selamat!

14. Road, Sahara Desert

Merupakan gurun terbesar dan terkejam di dunia, terletak dibenua Afrika. Jika kereta anda tersangkut didalam pasir, jangan risau, seseorang pasti datang. Luasnya gurun ini hanya 3,629,360 square miles je…he3

15. Halsema Highway, Philippines

Kejadian yang biasa berlaku di laluan yang ‘terpaksa’ dipilih ini adalah gelonsoran tanah, runtuhan batu dan jurang yang menjunam ribuan kaki ke bawah! Kabus yang tebal  menggangu jarak penglihatan dan pemanduan. Pemandu bas disini berkata mereka memandu hanya berdasarkan naluri sahaja. whoa!

Groupset

A groupset or gruppo (from the Italian for "group", often misspelled grouppo) is a bicycle component manufacturer's organized collection of mechanical parts. It generally refers to all of the components that make up a bicycle excluding the bicycle frame, fork, stem, wheels, tires, and rider contact points, such as the saddle and handlebars.

These parts typically include the following:

  • 2 gear levers or shifters and

  • 2 brake levers or

  • 2 integrated brake levers/shifters

  • 2 brakes, front and rear

  • 2 derailleurs, front and rear

  • 1 bottom bracket

  • 1 crankset

  • 1 chain

  • 1 cogset, freewheel or cassette
With the following forming part of some groupsets:

  • 1 headset (more commonly included with vintage groupsets)

  • 1 seatpost

  • 2 hubs, front and rear (although, most manufacturers now offer groupset-branded pre-built wheels)

  • Pair of pedals

  • assorted cables and cable housing  
Except for special commemorative versions, manufacturers do not actually package the various component together to be sold by retailers as a complete groupset. Therefore when a modern road groupset is bought after-market (as an upgrade for an older bike, or for someone building their own bike), the customer can choose which parts they require, the price of the groupset is just the individual prices of the chosen parts added together.



The major groupset manufacturers are Campagnolo for road bicycles and Shimano and SRAM for both road and mountain bikes.

Manufacturers typically offer a range of several groupsets, each targeted at a different budget or use. For instance, Dura-Ace, Super Record and Red are the top-of-the-line road racing groupsets for Shimano, Campagnolo and SRAM respectively while Claris, Veloce and Apex are their entry level road racing group sets, respectively.

Below is a list of the three largest manufacturer's groupsets for Road and MTB applications. Each manufacturer's offering is arranged in descending price/quality. The number of sprockets of the cassette in each groupset is shown in brackets. The total number of gears is determined by this number multiplied by the number of chainrings, for example a bike that has a double chainring and a 10-speed cassette has 20 gears, although some of them overlap. New study shows cycling really is better than running

US professor confirms what we all knew, says cycling “a lot easier on the muscles” than running & has science to back it up

A new study shows that cycling is better exercise than running. The researchers say runners should include cycling as part of their training, and people taking up exercise should choose cycling over running to avoid injury.

Research carried out by Appalachian State University’s (ASU) Human Performance Laboratory (HPL) showed that long-distance runners experienced more muscle damage, soreness and inflammation than cyclists after a period of intense workouts







The study analysed blood samples from cyclists and runners aged from 19 to 45 who regularly compete in races. The athletes exercised for 2.5 hours per day for three days in the lab at 70% VO2max. Their blood was then taken after one, 14 and 38 hours to determine that the runners were in a significantly worse state.

According to principal investigator Professor David Nieman at the ASU HPL the results showed that cycling allows the body to exercise for longer because it causes less damage than its impact-heavy counterpart.

He said: “Runners just can’t put in the same volume of exercise as cyclists without experiencing more inflammation, soreness and muscle damage.

“Long-distance runners are encouraged to vary their training schedules, mixing higher and lower exercise workloads, and to include other training modalities like swimming or cycling to maintain the highest level of performance.”

Nieman went on to recommend cycling over running for beginners as a way to get fit.

He said: “It is going to be a lot easier on the muscles."
